John has been involved in Colorado Springs commercial real estate as a retail property specialist and has consistently been a recognized top producer in the Colorado Springs market since 1994. John’s background in commercial real estate started at Palmer McAllister in Colorado Springs May 1994 as a broker, then moved to Trammell Crow Company to initiate the retail division as Vice President of Retail Properties in Colorado Springs and then on to be Vice President of Retail Properties Division for CB Richard Ellis in Colorado Springs. John left CB Richard Ellis in October 2007 to form Southwestern Commercial Properties, LLC and Guardian Asset Management, LLC as president of those two companies along with being president of Landco Retail Commercial Group, LLC, which is a retail development division of Landco, LLC. John specializes in shopping center leasing, build-to-suit site selection, property dispositions, and ground up shopping center development.
John has been instrumental and successful at leasing, pre-leasing, locating sites, site design and layout, development and entitlement processing, construction management of retail shopping center development throughout Colorado Springs over the past 14 years with significant projects such as, Broadmoor Town Center - Phase 1, Sandcreek Safeway Center, Pioneer Plaza, Woodland Park Plaza, Chapel Hills Commons, Fuller Center, The Plaza at Barnes, Barnes Plaza, Crossroads at Monument, Powers Point Plaza 1, 2 and 3, Grandview Marketplace, Safeway Marketplace East - Phase 2. John is currently working on three 400,000+ square feet power center developments that are planned for delivery in the 2008-2011 timeline and six 25,000+/- square feet infill strip center developments throughout Colorado Springs, Monument and Falcon.
John formed Egan Property Management, LLC and Guardian Asset Management, LCC and both combined are managing over 900,000 square feet of new and existing retail, medical office and office properties throughout Colorado Springs, Falcon and Monument.
John received his Bachelors of Art and Sciences degree from University of Colorado-Boulder; and Masters Business Leadership, University of San Diego. He is a member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a candidate for Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM).
